you have to remove the updates in order to get around it, or else you will only be able to lunge like 5 feet

The only way to remove an autoupdate is by completely clearing out your H2 directory... better backup anything important lol

Goto your halo 2 Tdata folder, and change the Default.xbe to like, Default.xbea or something. Then you will revert back to 1.0 auto update.

Just dont delete it. Because then youd have to go unmod your xbox to get the xbe back. Or find it an illegal way :o

Just as a reference for all those who would like to remove the update but don't have a modded xbox console;
Put the Halo 2 MapPack installer cd into the disktray and choose to install the update, choose to re-install the update and when it begins updating turn off your xbox. This corrupts the update and reverts your Halo 2 back to v1.0

But id just do my way, because obviously your xbox IS modded considering your querying about how to edit a map. So just rename the Default.xbe
