so far after modding, it has been taking me like 5 minutes to load a map in halo 2. it doesn't matter if i am playing it off the hd or disc, it still takes a long time. when i run yelo trainer it takes me 5 minutes to load a map, then once its loaded, all the maps are loaded, and take like 2 seconds. can someone please help me!!!!!!!?

when you ftp to the xbox
you should see some folders named letters
open the folder saying x
delete everything off of that
same thing goes with y and z
now for the catche
go to the E folder
and in there you should see another folder named CATCHE or something like that
go in it and delete everything in it

Listen. I have had this problem many times. Clearing your cache causes the problem so dont do that. Use your original Halo 2 Disc. And Load one campaign map(Yes it will be slow, but it should load), then once it loads, your maps should now load fine. ;D

DeToX is right. It's because you are deleting the cached maps. Those are placed there by halo 2 for faster loading times. So if you delete them, you are just making the game load those cache files back in their original place. So do as DeToX said.

that is another issue... it won't load the campaign. any levels at all. also the xbox makes this really loud noise for like 2 seconds then stops then goes then stops. when it stops stuff loads... when it goes stuff doesn't load. the campain i used co op to see the actual percen it has reached, and it goes to like 50% then goes to 20% and then i have to wait for it to load to 50% and it drops to 20 again. wtf is going on??????????????
and it did this before deleting the cache maps it still loaded slow. but should i still delete the stuff in the x y z folders

Yes. From your new information I would presume either the cache is very corrupt or, your disc is severely scratched.

If your disc is severly scratched, I recommend using a microfiber cloth (same kind that you get with glasses), and just wiping it off (no Windex or anything).
If it still doesnt work, just buy a new disc because microfiber is about as soft as youll get

That explains my problem... can you make halo 2 save and open maps in a separate cache from the default?

I highly doubt it. All games are set by default to store their cache in those folders. If somebody has found a way to change that, wow they are awesome.
