Shouldn't be any need. Do you have a router networked or were you using two NIC cards before you got vista? I have a router and never changed anything when going from xp to vista and everything worked as it did before. What is your setup?

that is why it doesnt work. Vista is trying to find the internet through my xbox instead of trying to look at it like a home network. That is why i cant connect. It always says limited connectablility.

Do you have a CD Burner?
If so, why not burn the maps to a CD-R/RW and pop it in your xbox,
and copy the maps with your dashboards filemanager.
*assuming that your xbox dash can read file CDs*

I was having this problem too when I tried to set-up my FTP on XP, what I did to fix was I hooked everything up, and let it show up as a new LAN connection with 'limited connectivity' and then double clicked on it from the 'notification area' (area next to the clock) and then adjusted my settings like so:

(Also, just so you know, I'm still using Windows XP, that's just a vista theme.)

Ok just to make sure turk do you have a cross over cable going to from your eathernet port on your pc to xbox. I would set up a static ip on the xbox and then use a cross over cable and then ftp program like flash ftp. BTW a cross over cable is different from a regular cable because two of the wires are reversed on one end of the cable.

Just to let you know a xbox system link and a cross over cable are the same just cross over is the more technical name.
