Gravemind is human and I know how

I think Gravemind (The big plant looking guy) is a moddified human because of this line in the halo 3 trailer " I am your sheild, I am your sword" cortana was infected by gravemind. Now if he is human he would be refering to the crusade times on earth. I am preaty sure she/he wasn't talking about elites because they all use PR and Plasma guns but very rarely do they use energy sheilds.

You can't be sure that's him speaking through her. Could just be distortion. And shield and sword are very very general, I mean, the Covenant have swords and shields...

He could be anything. But human? Unlikely.

well first off we know that corty is infected but she isn't her. She doesn't speak so rythmaticatly. Gravemind rhymes every other word like hes stuck in a poem. so is she. Also if you read my post elites don't use sheild. Master cheif embodys an attacker. Not a jackel. So the stament is very human u must agree.

Elites do use shields. Energy shields. And Bungie originally planned to have them use arm shields like Jackals. But Gravemind looks like Flood. He doesn't resemble any human or Covenant at all... and I doubt anything like that could be human.

Or where she says "I have defied gods and deamons" it says it in Cortana's voice and Gravemind's voice.

But I dunno about him being human, he looks more like a Flood thing or the big plant off of the movie Little shop of horrors :D

y'know how weeds generally start from one giant one? i think that's what gravemind is. gravemind is the giant weed that is the source of the flood. he creates spores in the atmosphere, starting off the first flood spawn, and in halo 2, he uses MC and the Arbiter to stop halo from activating. because i think he's flood, he wouldn't be killed by the halo detonation, but he'd starve, so he gets 2 pawns to stop halo from activating, knowing they will do it to save all life.

hmmm....

Not another theory...

When are people going to learn that Halo is a video game? It's not some holy book, and Bungie did not take 10 years to make sure EVERYTHING in the game has a purpose or meaning. Honestly, the fact that the Gravemind *might* be a human is immaterial. The only role that it plays in the game is that it has captured Cortana. Bungie could have decided to make a lawn gnome capture Cortana. It does not matter.

yeah ravnz it doesnt matter, but, its interesting isnt it? Can't we just think about things until some of them will be answered in the next game? It isnt extremely important to know what Gravemind is, but it is a little bit.

So what, it's fun to try to figure it out before some cutscene hands it to you on a sliver platter. Also for the people that say he can't be human because of how he looks, go to halo 1 keyes level. Look at keys. That is only after a couple of days to a week. What do u think he would look like after a couple of months or a year? Also anthoer theroy about what that thing is in the halo 3 trailer. You know the one that starts up right before they stop the trailer? A. It is the ark activating or B. it is a large jet that will propel earth out of the reach of all of the halo rings. It is called the "ARK". Like noahs ark. Also when I say energy sheilds I mean the ones like the jackels use. And so what if they were GOING to use wrist band sheilds. They don't in game do they?

The reason Elites don't use Jackal shields is more balance than anything to do with storyline. And their energy shields are still, by definition, shields.

Also... Keyes was actually not really changed much, the large blob was already there.

Well it really doesnt matter any one with any lvl of brain power new from halo one that the foreunners were humans and that the ark is just some stupid plot twist bungie threw in. only humans aka reclaimers can activate the rings i wonder why and the fact that som 40,000 year old halo installation has rotting human zombies begs another question about who or what the forunners were you would think that if bungie wanted to make it so suspenseful they would have made the flood not to look like human zombies i mean the number of flood u face human and covy greatly out weigh the number of both armies on the first halo anyway all i'm saying is bungie better put some more thought in to this game b/c halo 2 story was absolutly pitiful in my opinion battle for earth yet almost none of it took place on earth and also where the hell are the brute flood or some of the flood wildlife u would expect to see on a ring that houses such an atrocity to all living things i mean birds and fish and stuff like that would have been taking over long b4 MC ever got there so where r they. Bungie is just lazy and i dont doubt that halo 3's story will be good but great i think is a huge understatment btw what the thing was i think was halo activating to ruin the universe just my opinion seems fitting for a lazy ass bungie production

Actually, Hellknight, the flood weren't released until the idiot covies came and opened the f-in containment place thingy. Did you notice the Prophet of Truth saying "The Release of the flood was unfortunate..."yadda yadda yadda. THAT's why the flood havent infected the fish. Also, in the first game even, on the level where you read Private Jenkins's mission record, did when you open them d you notice all those doors and when you open them there are like five infection forms in a tiny chamber. CONTAINMENT, hmmm, why name the level CONTAINMENT with the description "Fighting over a plot of land that CONTAINS a galaxy-devouring parasite might seem pointless to some, but...". Think about that.

Grave mind is flood not human

[quote]At the end of the game, after all the credits have rolled, it is shown that Gravemind is occupying High Charity. He says to Cortana who has been separated from Master Chief and stayed behind:

Silence fills the empty grave now that I am gone,
But my mind is not at rest, for questions linger on.
Now I will ask and you will answer.
To which she answers "All right

how i know

Cortana said:
Flood-controlled dropships are touching down all over the city. That creature beneath the Library, that "gravemind", used us. We were just a diversion; In Amber Clad was always its intended vector.

he used the amber clad to spread the flood onto high charity. so they could have a possiblite of escaping and stuff :D
