Well i was playing halo 2 on xbox live and i was on a winnig spree hadent lost a game yet. I had just got my rank up to the next level when i got to the next game i was in the lead my team had about 45 kills and about to win when the whole other team left the game. I had thought i wone but when i went back to the pregame lobby my rank went down a level as if i lost. I also looked at the ranking chart on bungies web page and it said i had lost a game since i last played.
That night i was talking to some people and they said there was a way that if the whole other team used standby at the same time and made it appear they left the game but they realy didnt it was more like kicking us out and making it say we had left the game to the server.
WTF is this??????
How the hell do i do it??????
Is there any way to prevent it??????

Please post comments on this. From what i know not many people know about it. It seem people also start doing it around level 25.

a lot of people cheat around level 25

I got standbyed 3 games in a row one time when I was playing againts people around 20... we would get about 15-20 kills in the lead, with like us = 39, them = 13, then it would show the blue screen of death for a minute, we came back and they had 43 kills, WTF?!?! I lost my 16 because of that

I have noticed that bungies patch hasnt helped that much. You can still stad-by and now there is a way to win a match even though you are about to lose.
I have been also playing team preview and I get sanctuary and warlock alot. I noticed that people have been doing weard things by map moding. Once the other 5 maps come out once you get to a hight level on team preview alot more people will be cheating makeing it so you cant play xbox live without running into cheaters.

Doesnt work...

For one, a whole team cannot stand by. Teammates can try, but secondary doesnt work. So, only the host is the one that can stand by. Did you happen to go to the stand by screen? If so, then what might have happened was that mm gave the host to someone who's ip conflicted w/ the other teams and made the other team drop out. That has happened to me because I should have my 27 right now, but the host quit when we 45 kills, they had 24. I ended up w/ most kills on my team, but when the host quit, it gave the host to someone who's ip or router conflicted w/ mine, so it booted me, and it did not count as a win or a loss.

But I have no idea why you went down a level, the only reason I can think of, is that you quit before your last game ended and your team lost but you started b4 you lost your level, so when you came back for the postgame lobby, you lost your level because of that.

And about the cheating on the new maps, xbl or bungie needs to get some sort of a software that will look at the hex and if any of the hex values have changed, then the xbox in which the map is on should be banned. But I suggested it to them and I doubt they will do that...I thought it was a smart idea:( apparently not...

Well explain to me why I was in a game where I got standbyed by everyone on the entire team, they even admitted it to me....
