Containment Gates

Ive seen some tuts that try and explain how to add containment gates arround levels but i cannot follow them, ive tried using entity, adding netgame chunks but when i set a new spawn point for the gate and try playing it on my xbox, it freezes, i was hoping for a tut that can tell me how to make maps like the Dawn of warfare patch on containment or of the stairway to heaven on ascension
