i have 5 mbps, everyone has between 33 and 99 ping, which is pretty good

um, it WILL NOT run 16 player halo. i have 5 mbps and i dont even try to run 16 players, only like 6-8

OK. Take it from a tecchie:

1.5 megabytes per second is an amazing speed. When holding your mouse over your internet connection and it says 10 Mbps, please do not brag that you have an internet that goes as fast as 10 Mbps, that's just your connection speed. For 10 Mbps, you'd be paying a fuck of a lot of money, like 50,000 a year (I think that's a little on the low side, but w/e), and cable is usually around 400 Kbps, which is 0.4 Mbps. So if this guy's gettin 1.5 Mbps, it'll be good enough to host whatever the fuck you want.

When hosting a server, it is your upload bandwidth/speed that needs to be considered in addition to your download speed. I seriously doubt your DSL is 1.5mbp down/up. But at any rate, no this would hardly be enough to support a full 16 player server, even running in dedicated mode.

I am getting sprint fast connect 1.5mbps you can go look at their site. Theirs 512kbps, 1.5mbps, and 3.0mbps. I didnt post a link because you have to enter a phone number(and the link will show part of mine)

well im getting it activated tonight at 7:00 central time(-6gmt) so i hope its real fast. I have dial-up right now so i will probably be amazed.

lol i was amazed at my dsl...i was downloading like 3k/sec with dial up, then i got my dsl up....was downloading like 180k/sec :lol:

hmmm i have a 3.0mbps (no, not my connection speed) b/c i live pretty close to my school and i can pick up their wireless signal :lol:

and i talked to the guy and he does pay about $10,000 for it.....dont u love the school budget :D

well it does support 16 player they hooked it up early and called and told me. Another question: Like 90% of the time when i try to join a game it tells me i cant connect to the game server. Can this be fixed?

1.5 MBPS down.

For upload.. It's alot slower..

Yep on the speed test dont remember the exact numbers but it was 25x download and 4x upload faster than 56k
