Hey guys i currently have 60 diff multiplayer maps for Halo CE. For some reason though, the standing water in any new map doesnt work. If its a waterfall or sumthin like that it does. But if its just a pond u dont see the water, but if u walk through it will have the effects of water.

Does anyone know y the damn water wont show?

thx for any help.

Basically, the water not showing up is like your computer saying "Your Graphics card sux!!! Get a better one!!!!" ...No, seriously, the water won't show up on the lower-level video cards....if you want to see it you'll have to invest in a better gfx card for your computer. That's the only reason I've ever heard of water not showin up.

BTW, "figuremeout", delete that ass-long binary code string. It's frickin' annoying to have to scroll sideways to read every post in a thread.

Maybe it just a small problem. I lost the water a few weeks back, and then it reappeared 2 days after.

your using a graphics card that doesnt support pixel shading..thats why it work show up. PCI i would assume.

PCI doesnt have anythingto do with the card not showing water it has do do with the quality of the GPU. my card is a radeon 9200 PCI 128 mb and it works perfectly. PCI just performs a bit slower

What i was saying is that most PCI don't support the pixel shading methods Halo uses simply because Halo is a newer game and PCI cards are'nt as up to date as most AGP slot cards.

I think your problem is probably the shader you have under the water, Have you made a special material that you have made a shader for and changed its type from dirt to water??

Im sure thats your problem.
