I know this may seem noobish, but evrytime my friend tries to join my lan game, it says that the server is full. Help is greatly appreciated. thnx in advance.

Do you have devmode on?

I am pretty sure, yeah. Did you guys just want to mess around or something? You might want to check out the console for commands on opening player slots because when you're in devmode I think it has sv_max_players to 1 by default for devmode.

i tried that, it really is sv_maxplayers, but it still wouldnt work so forget it.

So if you want a friend to join, you do sv_maxplayers 2 ?

I have a question that is sort of related to this. When i make a game on the internet, my friends can never join. It always says, could not join game. When i make games, sometimes other people join, but barely any people ever join. Any1 know whats wrong?

Firewall?

sometimes it depends on what kinda ip you have. If you get lucky and have a 2302 kind, you can do anything with ease with a bit of lag. not sure of other codes but try checkig your server ip.


it could be your firewall or connection too. or maybe your comp? sorry i'm justing thinking of things, i've never heard of this problem before. but the thing about the ip is true.

maybe its my firewall. I dont think it would be my comp cuz its pretty new and doesnt have a lot of problems.

i dont know wat it is, but i set sv_maxplayers 2 and sv_public true. Still wont work but im gona keep trying stuff
