Project Relinquish

Instead of making a new post all the time. Ill just post my progress here.

Project Relinquish is a personal project of mines to get halo Custom Edition to meet today’s Next-Gen graphics.
Current list of to-dos are:
1. High res Lightmapping method
2. High res Cubemaps✔
3. High res Skies✔
4. Animated water
5. Bloom hack
ightmapping was the first project that started the Relinquich Project. Here are examples.

As you can see they are very high quality and ray traced.

The Cubemapping and sky project was a great success. The project testing doubled to show the high resolution cubemaps and skies and lightmaps to create a beautiful outcome. So far only 2 tests have taken place but more is expected to come. Here are pictures from the first test.

The main mistake I made in this was that the sky bitmap was very low res. In the second cubemap test. There were barely any mistakes made which doubled it as one of the most beautiful maps in Halo CE.

Currently project relinquish is at a halt as school is stopping me from making the project assets.
Here is a sneak peak at the animated water that will be in halo CE soon enough.

Very nice.
How did you accomplish the shadows?
Are they part of the ground map texture?

It is actually part of the lightmap. Originally haloCE would have extremely low res lightmaps to rely on dithering. I changed that by rendering the lightmaps in 3ds max and using 1024x1024 or maybe even 2048x2048 lightmaps. The link in the to-do list shows the tutorial I made.

Ah yes, I see.
Do you plan on creating you own maps for this, or updating the original maps?

What's the highest resolution that Halo CE supports? Would you be able to put a 2048x2048 image as the sky?

Highest is 2048 yes. I may be able to mod tool so I may bypass that.

I think E3PO Already did that in Tool**

Also I like the work, now give Halo CE some good looking Bipd's and Animations. *Not Like H2CE because those went smooth animations*

E3po stopped making things for halo CE a long time ago. But he is on msn once in a while to tell me some tricks I can do with tool.
