Model, non-existant?

Well, here goes.
I recently took a taking to making bipeds for Halo, as well as other models. I spend a bit on this model, but yesterday I went to load it up and it happened. My geometry ( the actual model ) didn't exist anymore.
I could see it, and the bones would move it, but I can't select it. Its not listed in the selection box ( the H key ), and i don't know how to repair this
issue.
I spent too long on this model to just give up on it, please, don't let it die.

so you can see the object, but can't do anything to it? i know if you hide something it doesn't appear in the selection box, but then you wouldn't be able to see it at all

try selecting unhide all, maybe it's glitched

What you have said inspired me to search around. It appears 3ds Max
froze the model, by its own command. Your advice saved me a great
deal of time, I thought I had to re model the lass.
You've shown me my way, if you ever need a favour, call upon me.
