in my init file it is just
init.txt "motd" thats wahts inside.... idk how to make a dedicated server.
your message of the day file shouldn't interfere with your map lineup
paste your entire init.txt here, you probably have some other errors which are messing up the mapcycle
also, here is the basic dedicated server tutorial on halomaps.org:

i dont get the part where it says to
It tells you how to put custom game types in ur map cycle i dont understand it.
# Launch the client version of Halo CE.
# Under Multiplayer, choose Edit Game Types.
# Create a new game type (refer to the Halo CE documentation if you need help to do this).
# Save your new game type.
# Quit Halo CE.
# Open your HaloCE save games folder (by default, this would be "My Documents\My Games\HaloCE\savegames").
# You will see the name of the custom game type you created as a folder directory.
# Make sure this folder is available on your server (in the same location on disk).
# Use the name of your custom game type in your mapcycle.txt file.
wtf is that?

Download my guide.
Also make sure you init.txt file is in the SAME folder as the haloceded.exe you are running. Also note if that still doesn't read it then run it as an administrator (if using Vista.)
