A map i've been working on for a while now. Added some custom vehicles I made, with help from ledhedgn, Sgt. Botley, and Teh Lag. Working on custom ice weapons and some more scenery. Possibly might make a custom biped for this one. Anyways, here it is in its current state.

So what did you guys actually change other than the skin? Though I like the skin, it must be said.

Also why are some of the cliffs in that first picture still brownish?

That was the first changes. It is actually an extremely lot of shader changes to get the ice/snow effects/textures in. Ice/snow type firing weapons will be added. A custom made m257 mongoose with driver and passenger seats. more to come as this progresses.

Ground texture looks bad, it needs a lot of work.

I guess theres not really much else to complain about really, other than that its a mod, and you could have just made a whole new map from scratch instead that would have been a lot cooler. Right now its just deathisland, except snowy, with mongooses

Ground textures are fine. It needs no work. Its a perfect blend of custom snow and ice. Bump mapped perfect. This map went through 3dsmax and back into tag format so i could make the shaders fit correctly. Portals were refined to make use of some sounds and weather in a better manner. Ice grenades were added last night. Sometimes suttle changes in maps is better than complete makeovers. I still have my custom snow hog to put in.

Selentic, I hope your not carrying your negativity from modacity over here. You disappointed me with your non-beliefs of crash and i didnt care to argue there about it, Stay out f my thread cuz I could care less of your opinion. You have no idea what im capable of making.

I like it. Name is pretty clever. But the snow textures need a little work. Alsy why not have snow camo vehicles?

No, I was not basing my opinion off that, but thanks for bringing it up as an excuse to use as why you think my opinion doesnt matter.

From a far your ground texture looks like a dumb of white and gray, from close up it doesnt look as bad, but death island is all about the banshees so people will see it from far out, and the bump maps only show up when you have a dynamic light near them, so.......

Bump map does look good, but its nothing new, let alone special, people have known how to create great bumps for quite a while.

Dont forget to make the trees have snow in them. I think there is a tag for that.

Actually i used the snowy trees in the map as replacements

Why not add* some glaciers for the heck of it? Out in the ocean maybe.

I'm with DEEHunter. It has a lot of potential, but needs more detail.

Auroras in the sky? You need to make sure it makes sense. You don't see a randomly placed Icy islands in the middle of nowhere.
