Custom Maps Lagging

Well, i finally convinced myself to purchase the full retail version of Halo, when CE and HEK came out, just so i could play with CE. To complement my purchase, i also bought a new graphics card (Apollo's Bloody Monster 3, with a Nvidia Geforce fx 5200, with 128mb). I decided to test it out, while playing blood gulch. That was awesome. It is amazing how much better the graphics were with the new card, and it didn't lag at all. Then i played Sidewinder, then Timberland, and then a bunch of other original Halo PC levels, only on CE. Then, i went to play the custom map "Faith". This map lagged so badly, even when it was just me playing, on a LAN. When i pointed my gun at the ground, where there was only one texture (the grass), it didn't lag, but as soon as i aimed at other textures, there was a rediculous amount of lag. I played another custom map, although i don't remember which one. It didn't lag as badly, but it still lagged. Then, i played a few other custom maps, and they didn't lag at all. I tested all the maps that i played again, and the one's that lagged in my first test, lagged in the second test, and the one's that didn't lag, never did. And still, the maps made by Bungie worked perfectly fine.
So to wrap my story up, i think that lag is a big issue in custom map creation. We need to make maps that don't only pwn, but also are lag free (for those with the hardware that shouldn't lag.)
Please tell me if any of you have had this problem. I would like to hear if i have any fellow Halo CE fans with the same issue, or if i'm the only one.
Thanks,
