problem with hmt and hmvc

I've just got a new laptop, and I can't install halo pc, because the disc is scratched.

Instead, I downloaded CE. On my old pc, I used to mod and reskin maps, and I want to do the same for CE. I've downloaded halo map tools, and halo map converter.

Problem is, to export the bitmaps, hmt needs the bitmaps.map, and hmcv refuses to convert it.

And because the disc is scratched, I can't get the bitmaps.map off that.
help please?
