Energy Sword animation

So I found out why I can't have glow for first person- you don't just add the attachment to the weapon, you have to have the glow markers on the model.

So i figured, I like the energy sword model as-is. So I'll create an animation for the thing. I've read the tutorials on how to create custom animations, but once I save the animation files (with proper names of course), what do I need to do to that new tag (animation trigger) to make it work with the first person energy sword model? (I'm using the same model- I'll just duplicate the third person model and its dependencies).

I'm pretty sure an animation tag has more than just animations- more like commands that help the weapon choose which animation to use.

Please help...I'm not too sure as to what problems I'll run in to since I haven't created the animations yet, but any help in advanced is appreciated!
