So I'm going to get into modding CE again.

I got my modding PC up and I want to get into modding CE again. I want to make custom maps and all that jazz, but I don't have 3d's max, and I don't have enough money for it. I do have Gmax though. I was wondering if there was any possible way to create custom maps through Gmax?

If this is in the wrong section, feel free to move. Just thought it would be appropriate here.

I got through part of that. But my gmax hates me (it won't let me move stuff) but it was easy to follow.

I do believe you can make bsp's in gmax and export them for use in Halo CE. Good luck!

Ok, so I have a problem. I wasn't sure if I should make a new topic for this or not. So, I'll just post it here and make a new topic if I'm supposed to.

Ok, so I have Custom Edition installed, but I don't have a 'data' folder in the CE root directory folder thing.

Can anyone tell me why?

Aside from halo CE, you also need HEK (halo editing kit). Google will help you find it.

Yup. You install the HEK and it appears.

Oh yeah, people gat the confused.
Data=Raw stuff. Like, .tiff files. Everything before you compile them with tool.
Tags=Compiled tags such as .bitmap files and .gbxmodel files.
