Halo CE experiences

Post by Mukelo »

Halo CE is indeed faster. I have Geforce FX5600 ultra and run standard Halo with following settings:

800x600
No Specular
Pixel SHader 1.1

With Halo CE, I get *ALMOST* the same perfomance with:

1024x768
Specular On
Pixel Shader 2.0

That's good :)

Pings are the same, they haven't got lower. The readme tells that Rocket Hogs shoot more accurately, and this seems to be true. There's also a nice feature when you join the game: it shows all the server settings and you can view them in-game by pressing F2.

Included is also the CE version of Dedicated Server and it works fine too. It takes a longer to start up (dunno why), but looks the same. It has some new commands which I don't remember now.

In overall, CE seems to be a great proggy... I probably don't fully understand what does it mean when they say it's an "unsupported version of Halo" 'coz there still is that "checking for updates" dialog.

There really ain't very much Halo players out there when comparing to some other multiplayer games and we'll see, if Halo CE will split the community or not. Personally, I'd like that everyone would go with the CE..

Need glasses?

There is blurryness inside and outside of the square - I dunno what game have you played or maybe you have switched back to the good old gf4 mx

The actual difference is that there is a "height" meter on the left and right side of the square - it indicates the sniper position vertically. Purely cosmetic thing I'd say.
