OK, I have followed text tutorials, and video tutorials! And tool just won't
compile anything! I know I have to use my Command Prompt, but I get to a part where I have to type: tool bitmaps levels\Splinter\Bitmaps, and when I hit enter nothing happens!!! It's not the caps on Bitmaps or Splinter, cause that's my folders name. If someone could explain how to work tool, or how to fix it, PLEASE TELL ME!!!
Thanks

Did you copy command prompt to your haloce root directory?

I just did, the root directory is where all of my halo file are, right? A-anyway, could you tell me what to do? Or how you set it up and got it to work?
thanks

1. Go to C:/WINDOWS/system32.
2. Look for cmd.
3. Copy the file
4. Go to C:/Program Files/Microsoft Games/Halo custom edition
5. Paste
6. done.
NOTE: Make sure you double click on the cmd in your halo ce directory not the tool thingama bobber

sorry I keep naggin' you, but, now that I got it to work, I type in: tool bitmaps data\levels\Splinter\Bitmaps, and it says' : could not read toolbeta.map. What do I have to do to make it read " toolbeta.map"?
thanks

That problem means nothing, but to fix it you just have to create a new file in the CE root directory called:
(.map being the extension, not .txt)
To get rid the of the same errors for guerrilla and sapien to the same thing, but with [saidprogram]beta.map

Ok, I've got past it, and compiled my Bitmap...woohoo! Bad News: I have 3D Studio Max 9, and I just figured out I need my map to be saved as a JMS file....problem being 3D Studios Max 9 can't save .JMS files, and I'm pretty sure only 3D Studios Max 5 can do it! Worst News, I've searched for it on over 3 search engines, and only get Max9! If someone has a link to 3D Studio's Max 5, please PLEASE post it! And, I have a registered Max9, if I do get Max5, will it also be registered?
Thanks

Get bluestreak.

Max 5 will not be registered. And 3ds Max 5-8 all work with Blitzkrieg, but Bluestreak works for Gmax + 3dsMax 5-9

But bluestreak is 5 million times slower, so is chimp.

Not really, chimp is super slow, Bluestreak is pretty fast.

Well, Blitzkreig is a lightning fast attack Hitler tried.
So dont you think it should be fast?

Thanks, but I made this map in 3D Studio Max9, so I can't upload it in Gmax, and I can't find 3D Studio Max 5-8 on the internet. So, if I can open it in Gmax, please tell me how. If it involves Blitzkrieg, please tell me where to put it.
Thanks
sorry, editing post. I found a plugin at halomaps.org that allows me to export .jms files, but the newly saved .jms is only 1kb big, and tool say's it doesn't have any geometery
Here's the error I get::://
Couldn't read map file './toolbeta.map'
building intermediate geometry...
building collision geometry...
reducing collision geometry...
building collision bsp...
reducing collision bsp...
verifying collision geometry...

### ERROR collision bsp is empty.
did you...
...create any geometry?
...make the frame?
...attach geometry to the frame?
...use collidable (not render only or portal) geometry?
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Halo Custom Edition>
Please tell me what to do from here.
Thanks

Your problem is you're typing data/. Remove that part, because tool automatically works in the data directory.

nah, I don't type data, I've tried it once with typing it, but it always comes out the same...But, in AutoDesk Max9, When I exported the jms file, it told me there was no geometery to export.I'm following a tutorial by a Kirk, I follow what he does and his comes out right, mine deosn't.
So do I need to starrt over?
Thanks

If you made a little box named "frame" and linked your main map to it you wouldn't have this problem mate.

That's right, and I think I see your problem for bitmaps. Tool automatically searches for a folder called bitmaps/models/shader whatever, so just type the normal folder name without bitmaps. Try that.

Ok, now I've gotten past that problem. But now I need to know what to do now. Here's the meesage tool gave me::://

Sorry for double posting, i have found my scenario file in tags section.
Here's the problem...it's only 2kb big, and my bsb only 3kb big.
So I tried to open my scenario in Sapien, but it just closes when I do.
Has my map corrupted?
Thanks

The problem is the shaders. You have to make shaders for any custom bitmaps you make. If you used default halo textures. You have to name the material in 3ds Max the same name as the bitmap.
