Can't get the health or shield values

This has really been annoying me for a long while, I've downloaded all the programs meantioned on this forum I could find and yet the addresses still remain elusive.

If their normal values could you give either to me, and if either one is a floating variable, could you give a strategie of finding them?

Using ArtMoney: Search for 75 to begin with, then deplete your sheild and filter for an Unknown value that decreased. Then when it recharges filter for an unknown value that increased.

Okay when I said "I FINALLY have it!", I meant I have the ability to do so, but it turns out I don't think I do. I've used 75 as the starting number over and over again, using the decreasing/increasing method (which I had figured out earlier, thanks though), but it never seemed to find it. There's a chance I kept doing it wrong, or since I used Cheat Engine instead of Artmoney, that might be it. I'll keep trying, but if anyone could throw some light it'd help

.

you might also try searching for 100, the shield's value might be stored as a percent.

Ya I already tried that, unfortunately it didn't work either, but like I said I'll try anyways.
--edit--
Also if anyone knows the normal damage of a weapon please tell me, it could help my searching.

*HINT*
Opening HaloCE maps with HMT
HELPS.
Doing something like this:

and searching for a float value type in Cheat Engine (or w/e you use) will work 99% of the time.

Unfortunately, as I posted earlier somewhere, I can't use HMT, but thanks for the help.

Also I did some searching using the numbers indicated, but it only came up with a number once. Either the designers went to a lot of trouble to protect these, those numbers have been changed, or I'm really bad at searching for addresses (I'd go for the two former). It came up with only one address when I searched (not suprising), but then I did a little testing to make sure I had the real value, so I hurt myself, let it heal and searched for the value again and nothing came up. So I did it again and again; nothing. So thinking it must just only hit the original number once then regain only to a certain point, so I quit tried again, still nothing! I even set it to search every inch of the program, and still nothing. The really funny part is, though, when I found the address I decided to change the value to see what would happen, it turns out the value seems to do nothing, not even a blip, or exeption, which brings me to original asumption it's one of many addresses that can be used to control the shield. Phew, okay, I'm probably going to sound like an idiot in a moment when someone finds it or fixes something really simple I did wrong, but I'm perplexed, so please help

Is everyone still as confused as me, or is everyone just tired of working on my problem, because there hasn't been any posts in a while and I'd hate to let this post go down where no one will look at it, never to be answered.
