Help with Multiplayer Characters

How can I make it to where your randomly chosen to be a grunt,jackal,marine,flood, etc.. in multiplayer?please make the explanation easy and understandable :P

for one thing, i know from experience you can be a jackal, elite, hunter, etc...and on certain halo 2 levels your secondary color and icon are always random.he is stupid.

I'm going to get all technical here. Bear with me.

You cannot have a flawlessly working biped selector or randomizer, like the one you are looking for. Why? Because multipeds, like the H2 bipeds, or the Sonic/SuperSonic bipeds, must share a similar bone structure, because they will be using the same animations definitions.

So, let's say you attempt to make a multi-biped with a SPARTAN, Elite, and Grunt. Sure, the model will be randomized, but the Elite and Grunt will look like total crap because they will be forced to used the SPARTAN model's animations. A grunt and elite's bone structure is drastially different than that of a human being, so the bones will be stretched to match the SPARTAN bones. It will not look good. In fact, I think the pile of throwup my cat just made in the kitchen will look sexier than that.

And also, try looking at some of my posts before you call me a moron. I've modded CE for more than 6 months now. You just signed up. I fail to see how I am the moron here.

Wow...You insult a great map maker that is well known in the CE comminuty, when yourself is a nobody who I have never heard of..

well ok i understand the bone structure crap but that shouldve been explained. and besides your still a grunt what the hell was I suppose to think :roll:

it did make some sense, just very little. Although you do have a point. I guess he was trying to say that he didn't know about p0lar_bear's mapmaking experience (biohalo = YAY) and just assumed that he was an idiot because he was a grunt (by the way Mo: you're a grunt yourself lol).

Anyhoo, it would be cool if it did work but unfortunately, it doesnt :(.

yes i know lol.but see i had no idea about how halos engine only uses one character skeleton (or whatever) during multiplayer.and he was a grunt so i thought he was just bein an idiot..so ya.its nice to know that not every1 on these forums is pmsing :P

Post count has nothing to do with mapping or modeling skill. I don't have very many posts and I have been here for about 2 years now and I have done much more than some people that just like to post allot.
