running HaloCE on Linux

I just barely started using haloce and was impressed. I then realized since it was independent of microsoft (sortof) I decided to try emulating it in linux using cedega. Install went fine but it would not run until i used a no cd patch for HaloCE. the menu came with the background missing. I started up a game of blood gulch and everything moved very fast. So I turned up the effects all the way up. I was even able to play online. I only had a few problems with the game itself. 1 If I switched from either the plasma pistol or the plasma rifle the visual would freeze when i looked around, but I could still here my self moving and shooting.2nd problem was it wouldn't let me change my resolution. (I think this may be due to my ATI Video Card)

My questions are
What may be effecting the weapons?
Any one want to try on normal wine?
Has anyone else tried this?

My specs AMD 2800 64 512mb ram ATI Radeon 9700 Suse Linux 9.2 Pro 64 bit

Thanks

sounds interesting, i can help you, but can you make it run on a mac, cause if so you'd be a god to them since they don't have halo ce.

I know this topic is old but I managed to finally install Direct X 9 Wine and tested Halo CE again but got a very strange error...

It just pops up and says success! and then closes. Has anyone else tried this and what were your results thanks!
