Wheapon modding question

Well I have edited an assualt rifle with guerilla to make shoot sniper rifle ammo and have the damage of the sniper rifle and I had some questions about it. 1: What I did is copy the entire assualt rifle file and past it in the wheapons folder, renamed it and modded it like above, since I just copied and pasted the entire folder will it be already in the game? 2: if not what do I have to do to get it in? Thanls a lot, I am kinda new to all this.
