new biped

does anybody know how to get a new biped ingame, i have the model but it has to be rigged and i dont know what that means, is there a tut or anything out there

Rigging means to basically attach the parts of the biped, which are the bones of the character, to a character mesh, which in rigging terms is known as the skin, hence why you got bones aswell. Basically you get your mesh, which you want to make movable, then you place your biped inside of it, place on mesh the skin modifer and attach all of the bones, then you will probably need to go around all of the envelops scaling them so that you get more of the vertecies of the mesh moved, then animate your biped a bit, maybe make him do the splits, then from that you can see where the leg needs extra enveloping, then give him other positions to find out what else needs enveloping.

There are plenty of tutorials on character rigging, do you have 3ds max or gmax, or maya or what program?

i have max and maya but i like maya better i dont know much about max

If you have max 7 it doesn't work like that, the envelopes dont show up.
