Halo CE - Fatal Error?

Post by red2kic »

Just downloaded HaloCE recently, and few maps too. After installing map files in "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Halo Custom Edition\maps" and starting the program. It displayed Halo -Fatal Error. "We have detected that one of the Halo PC files is missing or corrupted. We recommend removiong and reinstalling the game. (maps\camtrack.map" What do I do wrong?

Well I dont know what you mean by internally or externally. I did looked around in forums but there is alot so.... Yes, I already change the maps such as for example, camtrack.map to hangemhigh.map and rename the original hang em high to orghem.map, but it still detected and said that I got corrupt file "hangemhigh.map" Did it help you a little?

no no no, its not the same thing as a mod. The haloCE maps go into an entirely separate folder and area. forget your haloPC maps. You might want to reinstall.

Then what are those HaloCE linking to the file of maps for? I seen many HaloCE maps that people created, some are quite stupid idea ever, I admit. I did downloaded few, tho, but HaloCE will work if I rename the file in their right name. So Im fine, but I can't figure out how to try new map I downloaded. I got HaloPC, HaloCE, and Halo for Xbox. I use xbox more than HaloPc so Im not sure what to do with modding and etc.

just put new maps in your maps folder, dont change the name at all and they will be under the original maps when you go to the select map screen.
