Hi. I was wondering if there was any way to shorten the load time of Halo CE with a large number of maps. I was wondering 'cause I downloaded a lot and now it takes like, 4 mins. to start up!

There is a halo map manager some where on the net. Google it. Deactivate all the maps you wont use if you have a lot. The main reason is halo is basically checking that all your maps are valid. If you only have a few, its a lot quicker. Thats what i do.

to my knowledge it is loading the maps in your maps folder, the bigger the folder size (how many maps) the longer it will load. For some people who says it loads fast that because you have less maps or you have a faster computer (processor and/or RAM).

A lot of time it may depend on ram, but others there is probably system condition(fragmentation, corruption, spyware/adware/malware, etc.) that affect.
For example, my system is at 256mb ram, and it starts CE in exactly 45 seconds.
*edit:And i have tonnes of maps as well.

lets stay on topic,
but malware are usually dataminers, or programs that download programs unbeknowest to you. get Adware SE 6, and scan your system.
If you are dirty(website visit habits) then you probably got all sorts of shit.

with ur halo ce maps create a folder some where in My documents called secondary halo maps or anything it doesnt matter. Stick any maps u hardley play or dont like in there. If u ever wanna play em again put them back into ur map folder.
it shortens load time, just dont move any important maps, or ones u play frequentley.
