I want to create custom vehicles

my dream is this... I want to download or create and import a corvette Z06 in to replace the warthog in blood gultch. im not sure how to go about doing this but i would really like to know how to start modding vehicles.

geez that would be hard :shock: i would trying moding something a bit easier like just modifying the warthog or whatever before you do that

ok, well how do i import the jeep into 3ds max or even autocad mechanical, or if i have a vehicle in .3ds fomat how to i put it into halo?

it would be really hard tho... you would have 2 get the right type of render, and then you might need to make it as a new vehicle, cuz I dunno, but I don't think you can just replace the model of the warthog, there is proably somethin linked to it that does not allow you.

you can make new vehicles but it is really hard you would need to make all new animations for the wheels

There are tutorials on this forum how to make a 'new' model. I've altered a banshee into a F16.. took me a lot of time though but here is a pic 8)
(yes it can fly too :D)

U need indeed a model and collision geometry with all the right markers then edit some tags to make it behave and sound more like whatever vehicle you make.

Yes i have, i want to make a special map for it.. the one you see is just one of my maps that's still beta and needs further testing.. I also need to figure out how to make some animations for the plane.. otherwise the canopy will stay open when you fly :?

i dont know how you would go about creating animations for the canopy but you could just keep it shut and also what kinda mpa are you going to make you should make like a urban map with an airport

I know i can make the canopy shut, it would be cooler if it would close when u get in.. i got the animation but i don't know what should trigger it. And the map will be something like you mentioned :)

It should be REALLY easy to make the canopy open and close. Just make the animations and save them as JMA's into the animations folder, compile them in tool, then open guerilla and edit the animation tag to match up right. Take a look at the scorpion's animation tag too.

And after not doing anything with it for a while i (re)checked the nodes of my model etc.. it seems there was a minimum of nodes needed to make it animate.. now the canopy closes, the landing-gear comes up, the rear wings wobble when u get in and we all love the sound :lol:

I'll put a short movielink here tommorow so u can see it...

well you know how banshees shoot projectiles is it gonna be able to like shoot a missle (rocket) and like cannon fire?

that would be cool.

Primary gun is a (fast-firing) machine-gun, secondary weapon is a rocket-launcher that's able to shoot 1 rocket every 10 seconds with no ammo-limit.

you know those massive ships taht launch fighter jets and blah blah?

well make a level with two of those, and mini-ships. 2 massive boats with those parked on it (one red ship base thing and one blue ship base thing)

make boats, have the jets, put stationary guns on the edge of the ships, stick it in the middle of the ocean.

That would be a kick-ass level..

if you have trouble modeling the ship, get a game of Battlechest and coppy that little plastic thingy lol
