HaloMods "Classic" Read-only Archive

Ya. i just downloaded some maps from hce. and i dont know how to play them....need help plz reply..like i tried to transfer the files to the map list in the halo foldr and that dont work...and how can i play the maps and how can i play .rar file maps also

The designers of HaloCE really made things easy for the novice user,

all you really have to do is copy and paste the map of your choice into the folder

"x:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\HaloCE\Maps\" directory

then you can play the map,
thing is that halo maps are really big arouind 15 to 40 megs each, people don't want to spend days downloading things or hours even, and the bandwidth bills would be huge, so we use a little thing called archiving, get winrar, from rarlabs.com install it, read a FAQ on how to use it, then extract your halo map from the .rar or .zip file, into said directory above, then once you start up haloCE, low and behold you should have a new map in your game, congrats

k in english if u didnt get that just do this: what you need to to is download a program called winzip. its free, just go on google type winzip and download it. now once that is done , you click on the map file and hit unzip or w/e it says. u then can cut and paste the file into the maps folder and it will work. just for thew future though, never try to rename or fix the names of map files. that corrupts them and they wont work.

Actually to make this clear, and right, goto www.rarlabs.com

Download winrar.

After installing winrar, double click on the .rar file.

Then drag the file inside (should be a .map file) into the CE maps directory.
