halo ce patch prob

k
1. downloaded halo ce
2. installed it
3. put in halo pc cd to play
4. went to join online
5. get msg "new update available"
6. go download patch
7. try to install patch but get error msg that says

"THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH YOUR GAME INSTALLATION. YOU NEED TO REINSTALL GAME TO FIX PROBLEM"

8. uninstalled then reinstalled
9. tried to patch again
10. get same error msg

repeted steps 8-9

AND I GOT THE SAME F-ING ERROR MSG

I HEARD ALL THIS GREAT $#!7 ABOUT HOW MUCH BETTER CE WAS SO MUCH BETTER THAN THE REGULAR AND NOW I CAN'T EVEN PLAY IT

CAN SOMEONE PLZ TELL ME WTF IS WRONGGGG

Go into the registry and manually change the game update to 1.07. Then get the patched files from a friend or something.

and who would b kind enough 2 give me the updated files cuz i dont got no friends that play ce

another question

i looked in the reg and searched halo ce and i came across a file that was named versiontype and it said trial version

I'm pretty sure it's the one above version type. Mine says 1.07.

k so i should probably change that 2 1.07

and then figure out how to get the updated files
