One big Halo CE Campaign
This forum is for discussion of ideas for the Campaign

This is what we need to do:
JOin together to make, not a bunch of multiplayer maps, but an entire Halo CE campaign that follows a story, but instead of being some team project, we need everyone, mapppers, scripters, the entire community.
We have more people than bungie and Gearbox, plus we all have so many creative ideas. We know what was, er, 'bad' in Halo and Halo 2 (storyline, map-wise) and we know we can probably do better.
Just look at who we have and what they've made! And with so many people getting into Single player scripting! We have EVERYTING and EVERYONE we would need. We can make our own Halo 3. Heck, we could make an entire Halo 1, 2, 3, pre halo that shows a different side! The marines at alpha base in halo 1, the spartan training missions, The flood reaching earth, we could do it all! And remember, we arent limited by netcode in an offline environment, makind so much more possible. 300+ Mappers, one campaign ~ 20-30 maps. WE have the skill, and the ability to make something that could even be BETTER than what bungie made.
And if we have 300 people, or even 50, it can be complete within the next 5 months.
We have what it takes, from mappers and modelers, to taggers and scripters, to story writers. And with so many new 'discoveries' in the HEK, we can do so much more. We could even completely trash everything that came with the HEK for our own stuff! Every single piece of the HEK has been replaced in some map, so our campaign could be truely custom.
On the side of mapping, we have so many designers that we could make an entire world where no two locations are the same, why not make the best campaign we could make?
On the side of the limitations we DON'T have, we can actually USE BSPs and doors and scripting and everything, it's not like it has to sync at all! We're talking about creating the greatest project ever for CE, completely redesigning Halo.
So, in conclusion, all of us, one campaign.

+ Mix them, the creativity of the Halo writers with our own fan fiction writers. Their works amaze me!
Voice acting
+ Yes! Who here has a good acting voice?
+ No, no dialog. (I'm hoping this is the lesser choice)
New characters
- Who didn't love the Sarge? We need our own characters that can clearly be distinguished so that we don't have people killing them for their guns! This is what halo lacked, I didn't even know which guy was mendoza until I read the book and noticed he was real...
New vehicles
+ Stick to the simple stuff (plz say no!)
+ The SPARTAN's were trained to drive and fly ALL, so why not have all?

We need everything! But most importantly, a new UI that allows the player to launch our campaign, just like the standard campaign (which is of course possible, just needs a ton of scripting)
We need the UI to have a much better multiplayer interface, formatted for any multiplayer maps we may make for the campaign, WITH PICTURES, just like how they did it with the standard maps, the UI was made to have those maps, so they appear automatically, so why can't we do that with our maps? Everyone who has the campaign would have the multiplayer maps.
If we can make such great maps alone, think of what one big huge campaign by all of use would be like. And we can even allow for as much time as we need. Still working on something? We could wait a year to start, who would care? And leaking? What does it matter when everyone is making it? This is what people are looking for, and we can make it.

Count me in I'll get to work on a script right now! How's bout it being almost a montage of all of MC biggest scenes? Or mabey make it the story like that of The Fall of Reach Here's the missions:

I was thinking we make it everything.
Pre halo - Maybe two or three levels with the mc in MJOLNAR I armor, who wants to design it?
A little bit of Halo we never saw - Custom MC model.
The Marines on halo - CUSTOM marine model, possibly from the view of a specific person, maybe even the sarge? Remember, still custom levels, maybe just designed based on the existing ones.
A little unseen halo 2 - WE have reason to believe a spartan or two survived, right? Who's to say we shouldn't be able to play as a survivor?
And of course, the top layer on the cake:
Halo 3 - Why wait for a game we don't even know is coming out? We can make it ourselves, we already know what happens (kind of..) and we can do better than bungie.
EDIT: Oh yeah, and i need ways to advertise this to everyone that has ever mapped. We need the biggies, Tiamat, korman, there are so many great mappers! And it's not like we can't wait for them!

This is certainly an ambitious project, but if anyojne can do it our community can!!!
I would love to see tiamat do some levels, but for campaign they would still need to be linear, not like hugeass.
And does anyone have good ideas for new alien races? And variations on the old ones the possibilities are truely endless.

Anyways, I think it would be cool to add in the drones from halo2 and have Prophets/honor guards in some mission.
Honor guards can't be that hard
well anyway, ur right, a honor gaurd wouldnt be hard, but a prophet on the other hand....

CURRENT LEVEL LAYOUT (may be changed)
The UI:
Needs to be completely custom, possibly multiple BSPs, such as Halo, Earth, Reach, etc. The campaign menu will be custom made so as to give each level its proper name (the campaign menu for Halo PC was made specifically for the standard campaign maps)
The planned levels are:
A01: Training mission - in the jungle where the Spartans steal the Pelican.
A02: Rebel Base
A03: CUTSCENE (big enough for its own map?) - First Contact with Covenant, needs to be very actiony, depicting Cole and his escape.
A04: The Sewers - When the spartans are in the sewer on er.. That one 's' planet and they see all the engineers dismantling cars
A05: Attempt to Capture Covenant Ship - In-line with next level, this is the MC + team's attempt to capture a covi ship.
A06: Reach - When the rest of the team is first stuck on reach, or right before it, this is their mission to destroy the computers.
B01: Marines on the POA (CUSTOM BSP!!) - ends with cutscene of descent to Halo
B02 - 04: Missions defending the Alpha Base from various attacks.
B06: Return to the POA for supplies
C01: This one's a secret! It may have to do with a little someone who's name starts with a 'c' and ends with an 'a' though.. hint hint*
C02-04: Various flood related levels.
C05: WTH happened to the Sarge? Here you get to hug an elite! (Yes, we can do that!) Ends with a cutscene where the sarge get's a little pickup)
D01: Another little pickup starts this level, one in space. This map takes place on the Ascendant Justice - Capturing it. Ends with a cutscene where the AJ nearly collides with the one planet (er...) Emphasizing 2 main BSPs: Space, planet surface, both overly small
D02: Clear the ship of elites
D03: Another little secret with 'c'....'a'
D04: Reach, Part 2a - Make your way through the underground UNSCDF facility and find something, er, unexpected.
D05: Reach, Part 2b - Save the survivors on reach, both groups. Ends with nice cutscene of a fierce battle - between covi dropship and gravity lift XD
E01: Welcome to the Checkpoint - Attack the Covenants foot hold on earth.
E02: Welcoming party - Starts with a beautiful space cutscene of the return to earth, followed by a little something we need creative juices for - The Lost Spartan (what was her name again?) Well, she needs to encounter some resistance wherever she happens to go.
E03: Defend Earth - but as the Sarge. first part of Halo 2, only as the Sarge. (I also want to recreate the cutscene from the start, on the bridge)
E04: Long cutscene depicting Halo 2's best moments.
E05: Fight of the Brutes and save the galaxy, just don't put a bullet in the Arbiter's head.
F01: Halo 3, right? Si, senor. But we don't know what happens!
F02, F03, F04, F05 also need their own storyline.

make just the third halo book. i already have a design in space but i would need some scripters. well if we are working on all of those levels i will work to make like 10 maps from the 3rd book. I say for when taking over the ship just take the truth and reconsiliation and just mod the hallways and add a bigger bridge and make it about the same size. then i think the next could be on reach. in mc's perspective of corse. but then make around 3 levels for reach. one on the surface going to the facility. second from the entry in the facility to the bottom. then third from the bottom up to the top. then go to the covenant stop station for a couple of levels. then on to earth.
