Everytime I try to start HaloCE I get an error message that says that Direct X couldnt be started because Hardware acceleration isnt on. However I cheacked and it is on so sometell me how to make it work please. I had the same problem with Halo but fixed it by manually updating it (it wasnt fully updated).

what graphics card do you have? i am not sure, but that may be part of the problem.

Did you try turning hardware accelleration on?

I had that problem once...

That sometimes happens to me and i have HA on.
Just restart your computer and it should be fixed.

HA is on and it still has the problem. Ive restarted many times and it still doesnt work. Can someone tell me y maunlly updating Halo fixed it? CE is alreaddy fully updated.

Just a guess but try turning it off restarting your computer and turning it on.

Press Start > Run and run dxdiag

Then go into display and turn all direct x features on, and then run the tests.

If that doesnt work:
Check your motherboard drivers, if thats done, re install your graphics card drivers, maybe get the omega ones.

If that doesnt work, maybe it is your halo ..

I used the Catylist drivers. CE didnt work. Used the Omega drivers (still do) CE dont work. why!!! Halo works fine.

I got this issue to, its stinks but I think the answer is a new graphics card. Thats what I had to get in order for my halo to work....

Ah, no wonder!

Download these two files, and place them in your Halo Custom Edition Directory. It is the Sp2 fix for certain cards.
