Hey, working on my first map for halo..
Maneged to get this far but now I've got a problem..

after opening the scenario tag for my level.. setting the radiosity quality then telling sapien to start... I don't get a count down with the RGB values for the lighting and instead they are on 0.0.0

I doubt my pc can do the work that fast lol

Any suggesitons?

you most likely didnt do textures right so, try finished the radiosity process before asking.

ok I think I narrowed it down to it not finding my textures...

where should they be placed?

I have them in data\levels\test\mymap\bitmaps at the moment....

You also need to compile them in tool so that they appear in tags/levels/mymap/bitmaps using the tool command:

tool bitmaps levels/mymap/bitmaps

Then, u need to create shaders in guerilla that use the newly compiled bitmaps in the tag dir.

Finally, when your comp hits radiosity 0, hit the ~key again and run the command radiosity_save to make the level appear :D

If in doubt, consult Kirk4's excellent tutorial vids, under tutorials in halomods.com homepage.

heh well I thought everything was sorted but after following the video tutorial and loading mymap into sapien I'm still not finding any bitmaps  and so there's no count down... any suggestions on what could be the problem?

I've checked texture names in max.. I have shaders and also bitmap.

I am also having this problem. I have the most simplest map. A box with a ground texture and a +sky. Only the sky shows up. I know I have done everything correctly. But I get no countdown. I am so perterbed by this.

Hey, well I think I stumbled over the reason..

go into max.. click on material editor..

click on a textured material .. click the little M by diffuse..

and make sure the alpha source is none..

(I could be totally wrong.. but it made a difference for me)

That wouldnt have been it, that just changes the rendering option within max. Have a think & try to remember what you did. If you can, post here an answer to help others out with similar probs.

Perhaps something in the detail maps set in your shaders?

I got the same problem! It didn't work for a while, then it did the count down ONCE, and then after that it didn't do it anymore. Anyone know why?
