ive been makin maps fine but when i make my own ground map, it doesnt show up. the first time i try to structure the jms file it asks me what type of image the ground one is, giving me 9 choices, like shader environment, shader model, chicago..... then i do it again and it doesnt show up. then this happens \/ no ground map! i didnt even tesselate it

(this is after setting up a sky, setting it as a multiplayer map, and setting up radiosity)

what program are you using ? max 5 or max 6?
Just make a material and choose a bitmap for it. Then click and drag the material (the big pic of the sphere) onto the ground. select the surfaces and under edit mesh it says surface properties. apply material ID 1. under Views it should say Activate all maps. Click on that and it should show up.

I remeber that i had to click somthing in the material editor to get it to show up, i think it was 'show in veiwport'. I remeber i had to hit it each time i applied a new texture ...

it looks like he's actually in sapien.. the reason the textures aren't showing up there are either because you didn't do radiosity_save after running radiosity, or because you haven't set up a shader and .bitmap for the texture you're using. I assume the vid tuts show you how.. you use tool.exe to compile the .tif into .bitmap and then use guerilla to edit existing shader or to create new shaders that link to your .bitmap.. you will then see your textures in sapien etc. (once you have run radiosity again)
