3ds max UI question

how do u make the little yzx axises when u move the object i can find the stupid thing

lol i had a similar ques. "wheres the material editor?" -- "press M" -- i felt like such a nooB...

x doesent do eny thing in 3ds max 6
its the thing that was in the vid tutorial when u move the modle to say make a hill that thing with ZXY and the lines its like a shortcut thing (i cant explane vary good)

I've never used 6, but in 5 you can also go to Customize > Preferences In the new window that opens go to the Gizmos tab and check to verify it is turned on...If you can't find that, just do a search in the help file for MAX. The thing I think you're referring to is called a transform gizmo..see if you can find anything on it...If you do, post it up so you can help others who have the same problem

i went under gizmos and there is no verify box i dont think max 6 has that
i have another question for kirk when i build the level this messege comes up

Some other people have ran itno that error also. I don't have the problem so I am not entirely sure what is wrong with it. Were you typing the command like:
tool structure levels\hek hek?
or did you type it like:
tool structure data\levels\hek\models\hek.jms?
**EDIT** If you did the former, try creating the directory structure that was created in the tutorial and place all of the video tutorial files in the appropriate directory...then run tool structure levels\splinter splinter and see if that works...If it does then there is something wrong with the level you're trying to build...if it doesn't, then there is something wrong with tool, try re-installing

i put "tool structure levels\hek hek
i named it hek because i was testing to see if i wouldent get that error again i got it for 2 other maps

ok i fixed the 3ds max thing by unistlling it and deleting ever thing on my comp that has 3ds max 6 stuff reinstalled and every thing was good
and i think i have to reinstall
