FIRST THING EVER DONE ON CE

Post by Mo|)_M4n »

Well, I tried to add AI using this tutorial (http://forums.halomods.com/viewtopic.php?t=58860) and whenever I try to add hunter.actor_variant it says:

Any ideas?

Do you have the delimiter tags? Just try that, that error means your missing something required for that tag. Like if it was a vehicle with a gun on it, it projectile or something.

Open the tag in Guerilla and look for red text. Re-Link the tags to the appropriate ones.

And if you don't have them extract them with HEK+. Also, there are delimiter tags in the tags\resources section. Use the search tool Image.

First off, I'd like to emphasise the title... FIRST TIME I'VE TRIED CE... Now time for my questions...

1. What are "Delimiter Tags"?
2. WTF DO YOU MEAN PATRICKSSJ6?!?!

And some random stuff...

1. Already tried extracting with HEK+, didn't work...
2. I'll get searching A.S.A.P.

What you need to do is open up some single player map in hek plus.
Then you go to characters, then hunters. Right click on this tag and select 'extract to'. Now browse to your halo ce folder. Look for the folder 'tags'. Make this your extraction path. Also check the box 'recursive' and also check the last two boxes (can't remember their name).

If this doesn't work then, erm, tough luck I guess (but it should).

Peace and love

I figured out what was wrong... I had PepNess Redux mod on... I'm gonna try again now...

It still doesn't work, plus I took the downloaded ones from the post.

ok, well i figured out your problem. I had the exact same problem myself. The easiest way to fix this is to open the map "c10.map" in hek+. This map contains just about everything you need (all vehicles, weapons, and bipeds, and other st00f) now select all the folders -> right click -> extract to. check the boxes "recursive" and "use original folder names", and set the path to the tags folder in your halo ce root folder (mine is "F:\Program Files\Halo CE\tags") then extract.
The main point is that when you add items in, sapien will look in the tags folder, and then into whatever directory/files the specified tag is. so if you add a hunter, sapien will be looking for "tags\characters\hunter\" and all the files in that folder. So you have to have the correct structure in the correct place for it to work.

What I meanr by I have PepNess Redux on, is that I extract my hunter.actor_variant from my maps in PC...

I figured out what was wrong. It was because I followed the tutorial a little TO closely... It says:

"In your tags folder, make a new folder named "new ai" and put the hunter.actor_variant and the hunter.actor in this new folder."

I re-extracted the WHOLE character folder from b40.map, (It put all the AI from b40 into tags\characters\) and it worked :P

I'm going to kick some Hunter butt!!!

(P.S. I just want to say, I figured this out with no help, just fooling around. Thanks anyways!)
