Ok, I'm SICK of people and their sapien complaints. Here is a quick list of requirments and facts about sapien:
-Alot of the time run it in compatibility mode for Windows 95.
-Have no corrupted tags or missing tags.
-The scorpion tag and it's required tags OFTEN on some pc's gets corrupted with hek+ extraction from a map so backup these tags. (but it can still run in halo, just not Sapien)
-Some versions of HEK+ every once and a while will extract empty tags (as in a file of zero bytes) or tags with part of the file (as in half the file's bytes is MISSING) gone.
-One person asked if xbox maps work with HEK+:
ANSWER = NO and if you do; remember; corrupted tags = sapien errors.
exception to this:
extract all the xbox tags EXCEPT
bitmaps and sbsp's
and then get the pc versions of those tags in their place.
-Note to noobs; if you don't know about the debug.txt file, it contains Sapien error messages.
-If Sapien Crashes, Halo can't run the map either, is not true.
-The Error message that says...
-Sound Hardware Does Not Meet Requierments; Disabling Hardware Option-
...means NOTHING!
-To real pure noobs, "couldn't read sapienbeta.map" is there for no critical reason. It does not crash your Sapien. It's nothing.
-Last but not least, People have asked me why can't they open a .map file in sapien and it asks for a .scenario file. Because Sapien is a HEK Scenario tag editor, not a direct map editor.
Sorry for the nasty tone. I'm just trying to decrease the asking.
Some sapien warnings...
I need a working hek+
Do you know where i can get a hek+ that will not corrupt my .secnario tags when i extract them. cuz i still get that error when i open a hek+ extracted senario that either says "you tried to open a non-senario tag...Bad" or it opens for 2 secconds and then closes.
