I'm trying out the chain-spawn tut, but I don't know how to recompile a map. Can anyone help me out?

in tool, type
then u have to put the directory to your map
Example

build-cache-file levels\test\bloodgulch bloodgulch

Actually, he might not have the scenario yet so you should do
build-cache-file levels\test\tutorial tutorial

if you downloaded HEK, then u already have tool, and theres a video tut on how to do the last step
