grey maps

lately, ive been making maps, that in sapien, they turn out grey


any ideas?

did you texture the maps when you were modeling them? if not they need to be.

when i modeled it,i put the dangercanyon ground, then i made a shader, then i opened it in sapien, and its grey

You have to create a shader with the exact material name you used in your modeling program. For example if you named the material " dangercanyon ground " when you created the map you have to create a shader named " dangercanyon ground.shader ".

Also, if you created the shader after you built the bsp you need to rebuild the bsp in tool, because the shader needs to exist in the tags folder before you build the map in tool.

I am guessing you created the shader afterwards, because tool creates one for you if it does not exist, and the shader will not use a bitmap, it will just be a shader file.

The shader that tool created should be in the main directory of your tags folder, you can also edit that shader so that it uses the bitmap you would like it too, instead of rebuilding the map.
