I know this might seem like a silly question, but what is a rigged model and whaat is it's purpose?

A rigged model is basically a model that is "rigged" with markers so that it works ingame and in sapien and stuff. For example, a new biped model would have to be rigged with markers like left hand, left foot, etc. and a new gun model would have to have markers like the place where the projectile spawns. It makes sure the model works and spawns what it should spawn, and that it animates correctly (for things like bipeds). You basically can't make a new model that will work ingame without rigging it.

not unless you want anything like landing gear or animation on it.
