sapien showing up purple and not showing sky or map

I've searched for about 6 hours for anything to help, with no avail.
I followed the tutorial nearly perfectly, and I did put in a sky, and i did name the material on the map +sky.
Please tell me something to help me, or show me a link if someone did answer this. I really am trying hard to not be a newb.

Run radiosity at quality 0. Make sure at the end you type radiosity_save.

i tried that,
I saw in the tutorial he didnt do that, and could see the sky though
with mine, its just purple, and running radiosity at any level doesnt do anything; the numbers are just 0, and i can do other stuff rather than it taking processing

Hmm.
Make sure that in your 3ds or gmax, the place where the +sky material is applied doesn't have a UVW map on it. That might be it.

that may be it, but I made a uv map for the ground texture, just like in the video tutorial.
(my level is just a box, with the bottom faces tesselated and moved up or down)
Can you make the uvw map only affect the bottom faces?

Make sure the ground faces are selected and then UVW map it.

ok, i tried remapping it, and reapplying the uvw map to only the bottom faces, and i re-exported, structured, and bitmapped through tool, ill try to test in sapien again...
Aaaannnnd, i get the same thing... could not teleport camera into starting bsp; all purple, and moving doesnt show anything, and still radiosity is doing nothing
Btw: when i try to do radiosity in tool,(lightmap) i get this:

Thats what your supposed to get. What did you get when compiling your bsp to a scenario.

Maybe it screwed up the uvwing. Any error can result in an error.

my laptop is brand new, and the graphics isnt the problem; i can open other scenarios, its just that it wont show my map, or even the sky like in the tutorial.
Ive seen about 6 other threads like this, and none of them were even slightly answered, so please give me help.

im pretty sure i did; but sure, how bout i send you the jms file for you to compile, so you can see if there are any errors. i might have noobed something, or maybe my tool or sapien got messed up, but sure, id appreciate your help.
(also, How do i give it to you? ie upload to here, or xfire, or email..
