Okay, I've got 3ds Max 9 and Bluestreak, but when I export using Bluestreak it gives me this error:
MAXScript Rollout Handler Exception
-- Unknown property: "name" in undefined
Then it highlights this line:
Code: Select all
format "%\n%\n" geom_materials[m].name "<none>" to:jms
Anyone know why? If you need more info my xfire is tehwolfehnoobeh.

im not exactly sure if any jms exporters work for 3ds max 9. but if they do then heres some suggestions.
did you import any gbxmodels? i did that before and then i renamed some materials and stuff and it gave me that error. if you did, take your original model and import the gbxmodel but check off 2 boxes that say something like "import uvw coordinates and mesh" and "import material library"
if that doesnt work then just make sure everything is a editable mesh.

go around ur models and look for untextured polys, if u find any then just slap a texture on it and export it again and see if it works, and if it dont then u still got polys without textures. basically every part of your models has to have a texture on it, and if they dont then you get that error. Ive had this problem a bunch.

yea and also u cannot necessarily only hit control A and select all the polygons either cause i still got that error once when i did that. u have to go through and find the untextured face manually which is a pain.

Ah i remember you have to do that in order to export it correctly. but sometimes it lets me slide and go on with the rest of my project. so yes re- texture the faces and you should be fine.
also, i remember there was a MAX 9 Blitzkrieg for 3ds max on halomaps
I have no idea if this works but here's the link if you want to try

Does not work. Bluestreak is the only JMS export for 3ds Max 9.
