What you did wrong was make the ladder part of you wall, thats bad. The bitmap for the ladder is made where it's see through between the bars. You must create a separate plane a few units away from the wall to put the bitmap on, like it's leaning aginist the wall. Oh, and it must be two sided so it doesn't get a open edge error. If you don't know what i'm talking about look in the HEK tutorial.

What? If you meen a box for the ladder thats wrong, you must either make it so it isn't see though or a two sided plane.

if u dont want to go through that stuff then open up the ladder bitmap in Photoshop and go into the alpha channels and click on Alpha 1 then color the black part in white (i think its in the Alpha 1, i dont know if there is a alpha channel in there.) if there is no alpha channel then just click on RGB in the chanels and then change the blakc color to something else.

If he did that, then everytime he used the texture, the ladder wouldn't be clear where the rungs aren't which isn't a good idea. So just do what llamaboy said, which is a much easier and efficent method. And much more reliasitic because the ladder is attached to the wall.
