How do you make a custome vehicle in Gmax?

As the title suggests, I need help making a custom vehicle (turret) in gmax. I haven't started modeling it, but that really isn't my concern quiet yet. I just need to know if I can make the nodes/markers in gmax etc. And if so, how to do that.
