This probably a really stupid question, but is there something that's like HMT that works for Halo CE maps? Because I heard HHT did that but when I tried to open a CE map in that I got some error message.

You can use HEK+ to extract the tags (unless the map is protected), then make your changes in Guerilla/Sapien, save the tags, then recompile the map in Tool.

You can modify Halo CE maps in Halo Map Tools, but you'll need to use a hex editor to trick HMT into opening them.
You can follow jimmsta's tutorial on how to do this.

Or you can just use Zenaku213's program, HeaderH4x, which automatically converts the builds of map files.

it isnt rel that hard to extract the map in HEK+ so it extracts the .scenario and then opening the .scenario in Geuilla and then u can change the starting weapons and the other weapons in the map. its just getting used to it, it isnt to hard once u know how 2 do it. i could make models or maps 4 my life before but now i can make loads of stuff (maps, scenery, add water in maps, vehicles, bump maps, and soon im learin 2 make sound tags.)
wen u have changed the .scenario n gurilla u just type this in tool:
tool build-cache-file levels\mapname mapname

If you don't wanna HEX it for HMT, Dot halo can open them.
