Polys as in faces right? yea select the poly that you need to be tesselated tessalating a face makes more within the selected face

Tesselate can be found in the Edit Polygon in Editable Poly or Mesh

no offense but you werent even close too my problem  im running radiosity on my other computer soo i might as well spen the time and explain a little better.

In the edit mesh modifyer, in face mode, under the edit geometry tab, the create button. that is what im trying to use. its were you create a new face by selecting 3 vertices and it creates a polygon between them. Im trying too use this function. but im getting errors when compileing in tool. Anyone know the correct way too do this for halo maps.

I use 3ds max. I've had the problem before too, but not all the time. And I fixed it by redo-ing the model. :P
But it was a pretty basic model, didn't have much to lose.
