Model "Ripping"

Post by haloguy454 »

Ok, I was wondering if someone could tell me how to "rip" models for 3dsmax from haloCE maps. For example, I'd like to pull the bases from infinity, put then into 3dsmax and change it around a bit, and use it in one of my maps. Also, I understand that many modders are against this, I am not planning on stealing the model and putting it in my map, saying that its my own (who'd believe that anyway). I just want to be able to use it as a reference for a few bases that I am modelling. I do have HEK+ , but am not quite sure how to use it. What exactly would I have to extract? And how would I convert that to 3ds format???

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Try not to contradict yourself. Also, if you want to use reference, go in-game and look at the models and, of course, look at pictures.

Lol, sorry, I meant I'd like to use it in making one of my maps. Also, I'd like to be able to import the model into 3ds so that I can use the size and shapes as a reference rather than just looking at a picture.

Don't think you can get the Infinity bases using that though, part of bsp I believe
