Lens flares

Well I don't really post questions here anymore but seeing how the gearbox forums are done I don't have much of a choice. What is the different between a BSP lens flare and a scenery lens flare? And do lens flares come in other shapes besides round? By that I meen can a decal with a transparent background the form glowing len flare edges around the visable part of the decal? Another thing I might as well ask while i'm at it is dymanic mirrors, how exactly do I create them, how much do they lag your computer, and can they be applyed the scenery/animated scenery.
