Hello, yes, I have done a SEARCH test AND looked through the forum pages. Could not find an answer.

Problem: When ever I go to do the radiosity parts of the map making steps, the numbers START at zero when i do the radiosity_quality 0 then the radiosity_start. Im very close to releasing my map, and this is the probable the last obstacle in the way.

Help is very much appreciated. Please, just help me, none of this do a search or "na, im not going to help him, hes a noob" stuff. I have been kind enough to help some of you, and ask of some in return.

Thanks.

Could you maybe rephrase that? I don't really understand what you're trying to get at.

OK. Here goes.

When I open Sapien, everything goes GREAT. Until I get to the Radiosity Part.
I tell it: radiosity_quality 0

The 0 Above it comes up above the command thing. GREAT!

I tell it: radiosity_start . ALL 3 numbers START (dont count down to 0) and they stay at 0. NOT GREAT.

Then it sits there, and sits there, and sits there, and sits there. Nothing changes but the clouds in the sky.

I need it to countdown to 0, not start at it, because then it does nothing.

I HAVE TRIED THE TOOL METHOD. NOTHING.

radiosity can take a long time, especially if your map has alot of polies...
i would recommend doing it in tool anyways. with tool you dont have to wait for it to count down to 0. you can tell it to stop earlier. just type:
tool lightmaps levels\yourlevel\yourscenario YourBspName 0 0.07

i just picked 0.07 cause its fast, but you can choose any number.

I think what he means is that Sapien starts radiosity at properties like:

0.000000000 0.000000000 0.000000000

and that is how it stays.

Can you show the part of the debug test with Sapien running like this?

I've had the same problem I just forgot how I fixed it  .

I think your problem is in your bitmaps.

Check to see that the custom ones are set right.

And check to see if the internal ones have their material name in 3ds max.

Oh! Sorry I assumed you had 3ds. My fault.

In that case, the only thing I can help on is Guerrilla and Tool tag editing.

I want to say that it should be a similar system in Gmax, but unfortunately I have never used it :( .

Btw, numbers closer to 1 are faster, but 1 is not accepted.
I always use .999999 (that's 6 9's) because it's the lowest quality and therefore the fastest.
What this number refers to is that once it has reached the point where it's adding up all teh RGB values (which I believe go from 0 to 3 each), and the equal .999999 it'll stop short.

I have NEVER seen those files before, and i just reinstalled everything, and its still not there....so.......................?

No bumping, not to mention edit your damn posts.
