because when I go and do radiosity at 0 it takes for ever. Also when I look at the application it tells me not responding.

size of the level doesent matter all that much, there are mant variables that affect the length of radiosity:
-quality
-size
-triange count
-# of light sources
-# of scenery objects
-computer speed
-ram
-background processes
my level for example *i dont feel like figuring out the size and # of lights...* takes about 8 hours to do a low-quality radiosity *0*. I have not done a high-quality *1* radiosity, but when I do, I guess it may take upwards of a week on a 1 ghz processor. I currently doing radiosity on a 3.8 ghz processor, but its very loud. the 1 ghz is silent on the other hand.
Wow

It takes my puter about 10 minutes to radiosity 0 a 10000x10000x1600
I have 1.5 gig / 512 ram / Mem optimizer set to full cpu excel for sapien.
I shut down all processors in background and go on my other computer....2 Funee.
Oh and my friend is going to teach me how to "Daisy Wheel several computers together and utilize all the CPU speeds to one puter. Can't wait.

but isnt the map itself supposed to show up? it started at 0 and stayed there for an hour, and for that i mean for sapien, i just tried using the tool command you gave me, i just tried using tool, and i think it worked hang on
now the walls and ground are orange and red in wierd patterns is that normal?

If it stays 0 its means it is ready or didn't had to calculate any radiosity for you map cause its too simple.

so what does it mean that there is no sky and the ground is red and orange? (in sapien)

Do you have a good graphic card?

by genwhite
not really. it says that my video card is too low for halo, is that why? the textures still show up in the game itself tho
EDIT:
Ok now i got the thing to work, but when i load in my map, there is no ground and the game says "waiting for place to load" or whatever, so what is that about?

Yes its thats why.Don't expect somethig major in Sapien but in Game it will look alright

If there is no ground and you are not loading then you probably do not have the spawns set to game types. Click on the spawns and in the properties window of Sapien change them to all game types.
Does anyone know how to save the lightmap changes you make with the paint cursor?
