im pretty good at tags and such, but cant get things like lets say a c_storage object to have physics like in h2

at first i made it a vehicle with the c_storage model and collision geometry, then made a physics tag for it by hand. it kind of worked... but not very well. it always tilted and would only move if u hit it with another vehicle.

but can you link a physics tag to a scenery tag instead of having to make a vehicle tag? and do you have to do anything special to make it work?

any input would be greatly appreciated! thx

Well, you have to simply create a vehicle.

Create physics for the object in Max, create animations (make them do nothing whatsoever, vehicles HAVE to have animations to work), and create a collision geometry.

what do you have to do to make physics in 3ds? i can do the rest, but is there a special way of adding markers or w/e in 3ds to make the physics tag to be how you want it without manually editing the tag thru guerilla?

for physics you have to open up the vehicles physics file.....lets say banshee.physics.........go to the mass point rollwdowna and copy all of the nodes there.....i thinks the way to do it

yea thats the manual way of doing it, but the mass points, which from what i know are spheres that act as collision geometry when hit or something. i think they are placed in ways that match up with most of the model, so copying them might make it so that if i drive right by my new object, it will hit lets say the wing of the banshee physics that were copied. the sphere would still be there and it wont match up.

there is another way, which is to edit each one by making spheres in 3ds, then copying the coordinates and radii into the mass points. this is what i tried a while ago and it didnt work too well.

i would just add markers to the corners and one in the very middle of the box and label them TR corner BL corner and center_mass etc. and then make your own physics that what the did in haloball

yeh but doent u have a vehicle limit unfortunately?? unless mb u edit the global/ scenerio tag in txt editor if thats even possible.. what i heard is u cant make more then what halo allows like 8 or sumthing like that not shure how many u can make. I was thinking of some how making it into a weapon lol so it doesnt take up vehicles you can control how fast it moves around by editing the acceleration scale in the weapons tag but making it colidable i wudnt kno how to do that. Thatd proly work best for making the fuel cells movable since i think u could make em detonate when you shoot em em heh. Then whatd be kool is if you could pick em up and throw em at people lol
